 Homemade Apple Cinnamon Swirl Loaf

 Ingredients

For the cinnamon swirl:

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the loaf:

  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

For the apple layer:

  • 1–2 apples, peeled and chopped (any sweet variety)
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Set your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Make cinnamon swirl mix
    In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Prepare apple mixture
    Toss chopped apples with sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  4. Make the batter
    • Cream together butter and white sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
    • Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Combine dry ingredients
    In another bowl, mix flour and baking powder.
  6. Mix batter
    Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth.
  7. Layer the loaf
    • Pour half the batter into the pan
    • Add half the apples
    • Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar
    • Repeat layers (batter → apples → cinnamon sugar)
  8. Swirl it
    Use a knife to gently swirl the layers for that beautiful cinnamon effect.
  9. Bake
    Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool & serve
    Let it cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a rack. Slice and enjoy!

 Tips

  • Add a drizzle of glaze (powdered sugar + milk) for extra sweetness
  • Best served slightly warm
  • Store covered for up to 3 days
