Homemade Apple Cinnamon Swirl Loaf
Ingredients
For the cinnamon swirl:
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the loaf:
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
For the apple layer:
- 1–2 apples, peeled and chopped (any sweet variety)
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven
Set your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a loaf pan. - Make cinnamon swirl mix
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. - Prepare apple mixture
Toss chopped apples with sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. - Make the batter
- Cream together butter and white sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Combine dry ingredients
In another bowl, mix flour and baking powder. - Mix batter
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth. - Layer the loaf
- Pour half the batter into the pan
- Add half the apples
- Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar
- Repeat layers (batter → apples → cinnamon sugar)
- Swirl it
Use a knife to gently swirl the layers for that beautiful cinnamon effect. - Bake
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. - Cool & serve
Let it cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a rack. Slice and enjoy!
Tips
- Add a drizzle of glaze (powdered sugar + milk) for extra sweetness
- Best served slightly warm
- Store covered for up to 3 days
