Chocolate Peanut Butter Lava Cups

Chocolate Peanut Butter Lava Cups

 Ingredients

For the cake base:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt

For the filling:

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk (optional, for extra creaminess)

For the chocolate topping (ganache):

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

 Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease small ramekins or a muffin tin.
  2. Make the batter:
    • In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth
    • Add the egg and vanilla, and mix well
    • Add flour, baking powder, and salt
    • Pour in the milk and mix until you get a smooth batter
  3. Assemble the cups:
    • Pour a layer of batter into each mold
    • Add a spoonful of peanut butter (and condensed milk if using) in the center
    • Cover with more batter
  4. Bake:
    Bake for 12–15 minutes.
Do not overbake if you want a soft, gooey center.
  5. Make the ganache:
    • Melt the chocolate with the heavy cream
    • Stir until smooth and glossy
  6. Serve:
Pour the chocolate ganache over the warm cups and serve immediately.

 Tips

  • For an extra molten center, slightly underbake the cakes
  • You can add chocolate chunks inside for more richness
  • Best served warm for that gooey “lava” effect
