Krispy Kreme Peach Cobbler
Ingredients
For the Peach Filling:
- 2 bags frozen peach slices
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
For the Custard:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 cups evaporated milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Cobbler:
- 2 dozen Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Doughnuts
Instructions
- Prepare the peaches: Place the frozen peaches, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large skillet. Cook over medium-low heat until the peaches become tender and release their juices.
- Thicken the filling: Mix the cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water until smooth. Stir it into the peach mixture and simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Make the custard: Whisk together the heavy cream, evaporated milk, eggs, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Prepare the doughnuts: Cut the Krispy Kreme doughnuts into pieces and place them in a large bowl. Pour the custard over them and let them soak for about 5 minutes.
- Assemble: Spread the cooked peach mixture into a greased baking dish. Arrange the soaked doughnut pieces over the peaches.
- Bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) until the doughnuts are golden and the cobbler is hot and bubbling, about 25–35 minutes. The exact baking time can vary depending on the dish and oven.
- Let it rest for 10–15 minutes before serving.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for the ultimate peach cobbler experience.
There are several versions online; the older widely shared version uses 2 dozen doughnuts, 2 bags of frozen peaches, and an evaporated-milk custard, while another version uses fewer doughnuts and canned peaches.
