Homemade Chimichurri Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Finely chop the parsley, cilantro, and garlic.
- Add them to a bowl and stir in the oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour in the olive oil, red wine vinegar, and lemon juice.
- Mix everything well until combined.
- Let the chimichurri rest for at least 20–30 minutes before serving so the flavors can blend.
- Serve over grilled steak, chicken, lamb, shrimp, or roasted vegetables.
Tip: For the best flavor, prepare it a few hours ahead and keep it refrigerated. Let it come to room temperature before serving.
