Cheesy Asparagus Roll-Ups

These Cheesy Asparagus Roll-Ups are an easy, delicious appetizer or side dish made with crisp asparagus, gooey melted cheese, and flaky crescent dough. They’re perfect for brunch, holidays, or a quick family snack!

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 slices mozzarella, provolone, or cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
  3. Place a slice of cheese on each triangle.
  4. Lay 2–3 asparagus spears on the wide end of each triangle.
  5. Roll the dough around the asparagus and cheese, starting from the wide end and rolling toward the tip.
  6. Arrange the roll-ups seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush each roll-up with melted butter, then sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Tips

  • Blanch thick asparagus for 1–2 minutes before wrapping for extra tenderness.
  • Try pepper jack, Swiss, or gouda for a different flavor.
  • Serve with ranch dressing, garlic aioli, or marinara sauce for dipping.
