Ingredients

  • 3 ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 3 cups ripe cantaloupe or honeydew melon, cubed
  • ¼ cup honey or granulated sugar, adjusted to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • A pinch of salt
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and prepare the fruit by peeling the peaches, removing the pits, and cutting them into slices. Cube the melon and remove any seeds.
  2. Place the peaches, melon, honey (or sugar), lemon juice, lemon zest, water, and a pinch of salt into a blender or food processor.
  3. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Taste and add a little more honey or sugar if you’d like a sweeter sorbet.
  4. Pour the fruit puree into a shallow freezer-safe container and cover tightly.
  5. Freeze for about 4 to 6 hours. Stir the mixture every hour during the first 3 hours with a fork to help create a smoother texture.
  6. Once fully frozen, let the sorbet sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes before scooping.
  7. Scoop into chilled bowls or cones and garnish with fresh mint leaves or peach slices if desired.

Tips

  • Use very ripe fruit for the sweetest flavor.
  • Freeze the peach slices and melon cubes before blending for an even creamier texture.
  • Add a few fresh raspberries or strawberries for a fruity twist.
  • Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this refreshing sorbet after a barbecue, picnic, or summer dinner. Pair it with fresh berries, crisp cookies, or a sprig of mint for an elegant presentation. It’s also delicious served in hollowed-out peach halves or melon bowls for a beautiful seasonal dessert.
