Garlic Butter Beef Noodles
Tender strips of beef, golden garlic, and perfectly cooked noodles tossed in a rich garlic butter soy sauce. This quick and flavorful dinner is ready in just 30 minutes, making it perfect for busy weeknights or meal prep.
Ingredients
For the Beef
- 1 lb (450 g) sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Noodles
- 8 oz (225 g) egg noodles, lo mein noodles, or spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)
For the Sauce
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for a thicker sauce)
Garnish
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Toss the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Sear the beef for 2–3 minutes per side until browned with caramelized edges. Remove from the skillet.
- Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet.
- Add the garlic and ginger, then cook for about 1 minute until fragrant and lightly golden.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, beef broth, and cornstarch if using.
- Pour the sauce into the skillet and simmer for 2 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the beef to the skillet and toss to coat.
- Add the cooked noodles and gently toss until every noodle is coated with the garlic butter sauce.
- Cook for another 1–2 minutes until everything is heated through.
- Garnish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes if desired.
