Introduction

These buttery, fluffy biscuits are baked right in melted butter, creating a golden crust on the outside and a soft, tender center. No rolling, kneading, or biscuit cutter required!

Ingredients

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Pour the melted butter into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  4. Add the buttermilk and stir until a thick, sticky dough forms.
  5. Spread the dough evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish.
  6. Using a knife, cut the dough into 9 squares before baking.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
