North Woods Inn Salad Recipe
A crisp steakhouse-style salad with creamy gorgonzola dressing that’s simple, fresh, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
For the Salad
- 1 large head iceberg lettuce, chopped
For the Dressing
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 4 oz gorgonzola cheese crumbles
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the buttermilk, mayonnaise, gorgonzola cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, white pepper, and salt.
- Mix until smooth and creamy. For the best flavor, refrigerate the dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Chop the iceberg lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place in a large salad bowl.
- Pour the dressing over the lettuce right before serving and toss until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately while cold and crisp.
Optional Add-Ins
- Thinly sliced red cabbage
- Bacon bits
- Parmesan cheese
- Green onions
Tips
- Use very cold lettuce for that classic restaurant crunch.
- If the dressing feels too thick, add a splash of milk.
- Letting the dressing chill enhances the flavor even more.
