Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour (270 g)
  • 1½ teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips or chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.
  7. Scoop large portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. For giant bakery-style cookies, use about ¼ cup of dough per cookie.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown while the centers stay slightly soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Tips

  • For extra thick cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top for a bakery-style finish.
  • Slightly underbake for gooey centers.

Warm, soft, and loaded with melty chocolate, these giant cookies taste just like the ones from a bakery!
