Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour (270 g)
- 1½ teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips or chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.
- Scoop large portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. For giant bakery-style cookies, use about ¼ cup of dough per cookie.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown while the centers stay slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Tips
- For extra thick cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top for a bakery-style finish.
- Slightly underbake for gooey centers.
Warm, soft, and loaded with melty chocolate, these giant cookies taste just like the ones from a bakery!
