Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding (Classic, Creamy & Comforting)
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup Minute Rice
- 2 3/4 cups milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup raisins
- Cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the baking dish:
Lightly butter a 1-quart baking dish. - Combine ingredients:
Add the following into the dish:- Minute Rice
- Milk
- Sugar
- Butter
- Salt
- Vanilla extract
- Nutmeg
- Raisins
Stir gently to combine.
- Bake:
Place in the oven and bake for 1 hour.- Stir once after 15 minutes
- Stir again when the pudding is done
- Finish:
Sprinkle cinnamon on top. - Serve:
Serve warm or chilled. The pudding will thicken as it cools.
Tips:
- For an extra creamy texture, add a little more milk.
- You can replace raisins with other add-ins like coconut or leave them out.
- The flavor gets even better after it sits for a while.
