Quick Baked Cheesy Tacos (Oven-Gratinated)
Ingredients:
- 4 wheat or corn tortillas
- 300 g ground meat (beef or chicken)
- 1 mild onion, finely sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 100 g grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mix)
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce or salsa
- Fresh parsley or cilantro (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cook the filling:
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook until soft.
Add the garlic (if using), then the ground meat. Cook until browned. - Season:
Add paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Mix well and let it simmer for 5 minutes. - Assemble the tacos:
Place some of the meat mixture onto each tortilla. Sprinkle grated cheese on top, then fold the tortillas in half. - Bake:
Arrange the tacos in a baking dish. Sprinkle extra cheese on top.
Bake for 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. - Serve:
Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley or cilantro if desired, and serve hot.
Tip: Serve with sour cream, guacamole, or a fresh salad on the side for extra flavor.
