 Sliced Tomato with Salt & Pepper

Ingredients

  • 1–2 ripe tomatoes (heirloom or vine-ripened are best)
  • Flaky sea salt (or kosher salt)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Wash the tomatoes and pat them dry.
  2. Slice into thick rounds or wedges, depending on your preference.
  3. Arrange on a plate in a single layer.
  4. Season generously with flaky sea salt.
  5. Add freshly cracked black pepper on top.
  6. Let sit for 2–3 minutes to allow the salt to draw out the natural juices.

Optional Add-Ons (for extra flavor)

  • Drizzle of olive oil
  • Splash of balsamic vinegar
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Crumbled cheese (like feta or mozzarella)

Tips

  • Use the ripest tomatoes you can find—this dish is all about quality.
  • Don’t skimp on the salt—it enhances the tomato’s natural sweetness.
