HOT & MELTY APPLE TART
This warm, melt-in-your-mouth apple tart is pure comfort food! Tender, caramelized apples sit on a buttery, flaky crust with a sweet cinnamon finish. Serve it warm from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry or pie crust
- 5–6 Golden Delicious apples
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons applesauce
- 1 tablespoon apricot jam
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Place the pie crust or puff pastry into a tart pan and gently press it into the edges. Prick the bottom several times with a fork.
- Spread the applesauce evenly over the bottom of the crust.
- Peel the apples, remove the cores, and slice them very thinly.
- Arrange the apple slices in overlapping circles over the applesauce.
- Sprinkle the apples evenly with the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon.
- Cut the butter into small pieces and scatter them over the apples.
- Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until the apples are tender, golden, and lightly caramelized and the crust is nicely browned.
- While the tart is baking, warm the apricot jam with 1 tablespoon of water until smooth.
- When the tart comes out of the oven, gently brush the warm apricot glaze over the apples.
- Let the tart cool for 5–10 minutes, then serve warm.
