Candied Kielbasa Bites
Ingredients
- 1 lb kielbasa, sliced into ½-inch rounds
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Slice the kielbasa into bite-sized rounds, about ½ inch thick. Arrange the pieces in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Make the candied glaze: In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and butter.
- Stir continuously until the butter melts and the brown sugar dissolves. Let the mixture simmer gently for about 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Coat the kielbasa: Pour about half of the glaze over the kielbasa and toss gently to coat every piece.
- Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the pan, turn the kielbasa pieces, and brush them generously with the remaining glaze.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until the kielbasa is caramelized and the edges are beautifully browned.
- For an extra sticky, caramelized finish, broil for 1–2 minutes, watching closely so the sugar doesn’t burn.
- Let the bites cool for a few minutes, then transfer them to a serving platter. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired.
Serving
Serve these Candied Kielbasa Bites warm as an appetizer, party snack, game-day finger food, or holiday appetizer. They’re especially delicious served with toothpicks so everyone can grab one easily.
Tip: Keep an eye on them during the final few minutes because the brown sugar and honey glaze can caramelize very quickly.
