Ingredients

  • 450 g (1 lb) ribeye steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 cups (about 150 g) broccoli florets
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Sliced green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  3. Add the steak strips in a single layer and sear for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the remaining oil to the skillet. Cook the onion for 2–3 minutes until softened.
  5. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently. If needed, add 2 tablespoons of water and cover for 1–2 minutes to lightly steam the broccoli.
  7. Return the steak to the skillet.
  8. Pour the prepared sauce over the steak and broccoli. Toss everything together and cook for 2–3 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients evenly.
  9. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Serving Suggestions

Serve hot over steamed white rice, brown rice, cauliflower rice, or noodles. Pair with a fresh side salad or egg rolls for a complete meal.

Tips

  • Slice the steak against the grain for maximum tenderness.
  • Cook the steak in batches if needed to ensure a good sear.
  • Add sliced mushrooms, bell peppers, or snap peas for extra vegetables.
  • For a spicy kick, add extra red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
