Ingredients

For the Cookie Cups

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

For the Chocolate Filling

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Optional Toppings

  • Chocolate sprinkles
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Crushed cookies
  • Chopped nuts
  • Sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 24-cup mini muffin pan or use nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place one in each muffin cup.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Immediately press the center of each cookie with the back of a teaspoon or a small tart tamper to create a cup. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Make the Filling

  1. Heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer.
  2. Pour it over the chocolate chips and let sit for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the butter and stir until smooth and glossy.

Assemble

  1. Spoon or pipe the warm chocolate ganache into each cooled cookie cup.
  2. Decorate with your favorite toppings if desired.
  3. Let the chocolate set at room temperature, or chill for 20–30 minutes for a firmer center.

Tips

  • Don’t overbake the cookie cups—they’ll stay soft and chewy.
  • Fill them with peanut butter, caramel, or hazelnut spread for delicious variations.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
