Tuna and Cream Cheese Sandwich Roll-Ups with Lemon Sauce

Ingredients

For the Roll-Ups

  • 8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 1 (5-ounce) can tuna, drained
  • 7 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or parsley
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Lemon Sauce

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, softened cream cheese, chopped herbs, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  2. Trim the crusts from the bread slices and flatten each slice with a rolling pin.
  3. Spread an even layer of the tuna mixture over each slice of bread.
  4. Roll each slice up tightly and wrap it in plastic wrap.
  5. Refrigerate for 30 to 60 minutes to help the rolls hold their shape.
  6. Remove the plastic wrap and slice each roll into 1-inch pieces.

Make the Lemon Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt (or sour cream), lemon juice, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  2. Serve the sauce alongside the sandwich roll-ups for dipping.

Tips

  • Chill the roll-ups before slicing for the cleanest cuts.
  • Add finely chopped cucumber, celery, or green onions to the filling for extra crunch.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley, dill, or a sprinkle of paprika before serving.
  • These bite-sized roll-ups are perfect for parties, brunches, picnics, or as a quick and refreshing appetizer.
