Golden Cheesy Olive Bites
These Golden Cheesy Olive Bites are buttery, crisp on the outside, and packed with a savory olive center. They’re perfect as party appetizers, holiday snacks, or a delicious bite-sized treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
- Pinch of salt
- 24 pitted green olives (or pimento-stuffed olives), drained and patted dry
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cheddar cheese and softened butter until smooth.
- Add the flour, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough and flatten it in your palm.
- Place one olive in the center and wrap the dough completely around it, sealing all edges.
- Roll gently into a smooth ball and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Repeat with the remaining olives and dough.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the bites are golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve warm with ranch dressing, garlic aioli, or marinara sauce.
- Add them to a charcuterie board.
- Perfect for parties, game day, or holiday gatherings.
Tips
- Pat the olives dry before wrapping to help the dough stick.
- You can prepare the bites ahead of time and freeze them unbaked. Bake directly from frozen, adding 3–5 extra minutes to the baking time.
- Try using pepper jack or Parmesan for a different cheesy flavor.
