KFC Air Fryer Chicken Legs
Ingredients
For the Chicken
- 8 chicken drumsticks (skin on)
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- Cooking oil spray
Seasoned Coating
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic salt
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp celery salt
- 1 tbsp dried mustard
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 2 tsp white pepper
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in the buttermilk for at least 1 hour, or overnight for the best flavor.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix all the coating ingredients.
- Beat the egg and stir it into a few tablespoons of the buttermilk marinade.
- Remove each drumstick from the marinade, coat it in the seasoned flour, dip it into the egg mixture, then coat it again in the flour for an extra crispy crust.
- Lightly spray the coated chicken with cooking oil.
- Arrange the drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
- Air fry for 22–25 minutes, turning halfway through and spraying lightly with more oil if needed. Cook until the coating is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
