Dr. Pepper Barbecue Sloppy Joes:
Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup diced onion
- 2 cups Dr. Pepper Barbecue Sauce
Instructions
- Cook the beef
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it starts to brown, breaking it apart as it cooks. - Add seasoning & onion
Stir in the diced onion, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 5–7 minutes, until the onion becomes soft and the beef is fully browned. Drain excess fat if needed. - Add the sauce
Pour in the Dr. Pepper Barbecue Sauce and mix well so everything is fully coated. - Simmer
Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 10–15 minutes. This helps the flavors blend and the sauce thicken slightly. - Serve
Spoon the mixture onto toasted burger buns or slider rolls. You can add pickles, coleslaw, or melted cheese if you like extra flavor.
Result: sweet, smoky, and tangy sloppy joes with a deep barbecue kick from the Dr. Pepper sauce.
