4-Ingredient Church Luncheon Dessert

This easy dessert is creamy, sweet, and perfect for potlucks, church gatherings, or family dinners. Everyone always asks for the recipe because it tastes like something that took hours to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 can crushed pineapple (20 oz, undrained)
  • 1 package vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 1 container whipped topping (8 oz, thawed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Spread the crushed pineapple with its juice evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the pineapple. Do not stir.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  6. Let the cake cool completely.
  7. Mix the vanilla pudding mix with the whipped topping until smooth, then spread over the cooled cake.
  8. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Optional Add-Ins

  • Chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Toasted coconut flakes
