Chocolate Walnut Brownies
Ingredients
For the Brownies
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
For the Chocolate Topping
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pan
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Step 2: Make the Batter
Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Step 3: Add Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
Step 4: Bake
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the brownies to cool completely.
Step 5: Prepare the Topping
Heat the heavy cream until hot but not boiling. Pour it over the chocolate chips and let sit for 2 minutes. Stir until smooth and glossy.
Spread the chocolate topping over the cooled brownies and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
Step 6: Serve
Cut into squares and serve. These brownies are extra fudgy and rich, perfect with coffee or a glass of milk.
