 Tender Chicken Wrapped in Tortillas with a Rich, Creamy Cheese Sauce

A warm, cheesy comfort meal that’s creamy, filling, and perfect for lunch or dinner. These chicken tortilla wraps are baked until golden and covered in a rich homemade cheese sauce.

 Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, diced or shredded
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (for the sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

 Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling
    In a bowl, combine the cooked chicken with 1 cup shredded cheese. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Fill the Tortillas
    Divide the chicken mixture evenly between the tortillas. Roll them tightly and place seam-side down in a greased baking dish.
  3. Make the Creamy Cheese Sauce
    In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
    Slowly whisk in the milk until smooth and slightly thickened.
  4. Add the Cheese
    Stir in 1 cup shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy and melted.
  5. Assemble
    Pour the cheese sauce evenly over the tortillas.
  6. Bake
    Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
  7. Serve
    Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
