Baked Salmon in Foil with Asparagus & Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce
This is a simple one-pan foil packet meal where salmon and asparagus cook together in a rich lemon-garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients (serves 2–4)
- 2–4 salmon fillets
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
- 3–4 tbsp butter, melted
- 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon (plus lemon slices for topping)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven
Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
2. Prepare foil packets
- Cut large sheets of aluminum foil
- Place asparagus in the center of each sheet
- Lay salmon fillet on top of asparagus
3. Season
- Sprinkle salmon and asparagus with salt and pepper
- Add lemon slices on top if desired
4. Make garlic lemon butter sauce
Mix:
- melted butter
- minced garlic
- lemon juice
- (optional olive oil + parsley)
Drizzle generously over salmon and asparagus.
5. Seal
- Fold foil tightly into sealed packets (leave a little air space inside for steaming)
6. Bake
- Bake for 12–18 minutes (depends on thickness)
- Salmon is done when it flakes easily and is opaque
7. Serve
- Carefully open foil (hot steam!)
- Garnish with fresh parsley + extra lemon juice
