 Baked Salmon in Foil with Asparagus & Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce

This is a simple one-pan foil packet meal where salmon and asparagus cook together in a rich lemon-garlic butter sauce.

 Ingredients (serves 2–4)

  • 2–4 salmon fillets
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 3–4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon (plus lemon slices for topping)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

 Instructions

1. Preheat oven

Preheat to 400°F (200°C).

2. Prepare foil packets

  • Cut large sheets of aluminum foil
  • Place asparagus in the center of each sheet
  • Lay salmon fillet on top of asparagus

3. Season

  • Sprinkle salmon and asparagus with salt and pepper
  • Add lemon slices on top if desired

4. Make garlic lemon butter sauce

Mix:

  • melted butter
  • minced garlic
  • lemon juice
  • (optional olive oil + parsley)

Drizzle generously over salmon and asparagus.

5. Seal

  • Fold foil tightly into sealed packets (leave a little air space inside for steaming)

6. Bake

  • Bake for 12–18 minutes (depends on thickness)
  • Salmon is done when it flakes easily and is opaque

7. Serve

  • Carefully open foil (hot steam!)
  • Garnish with fresh parsley + extra lemon juice

  • Don’t overcook (salmon dries fast)
  • Use fresh garlic for stronger flavor
  • Add paprika or chili flakes for a spicy version
