Creamy Swiss Chicken Slow Cooker Bake
Creamy, cheesy, and unbelievably comforting. This slow cooker classic layers tender chicken with rich sauce, melty Swiss, and a savory, golden topping that soaks up all the flavor as it cooks low and slow.
Ingredients
- 2 to 2½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- ½ cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 6–8 slices Swiss cheese
- 1½ cups seasoned stuffing mix or crushed buttery crackers
- Nonstick spray
Optional (recommended):
- 2–3 tablespoons melted butter (for a crispier topping)
Instructions
- Lightly coat the inside of a 4–6 quart slow cooker with nonstick spray.
- Arrange the chicken in a single, even layer at the bottom. Cut thick pieces in half if needed.
- Pour the chicken broth evenly over the chicken.
- Spread the cream of chicken soup over the top to fully cover.
- Layer the Swiss cheese slices over the soup-covered chicken.
- Sprinkle the stuffing mix or crushed crackers evenly on top.
- (Optional) Drizzle melted butter over the topping for extra richness and browning.
- Cover and cook:
- LOW: 6–7 hours
- HIGH: 3–4 hours
Until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
