Caramelized Bananas

Caramelized Bananas

 Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 4 over-ripe bananas (sliced into 1/2 inch thick rounds)
  • 1/2 cup salted sweet cream butter (cut into small pats)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the butter and let it melt completely until slightly bubbly.
  2. Add brown sugar
Stir in the brown sugar. Cook for about 1–2 minutes until it starts to dissolve and forms a smooth, caramel-like sauce.
  3. Cook the bananas
Gently place the banana slices into the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 1–2 minutes per side.
Be careful—bananas are soft, so don’t stir too aggressively.
  4. Caramel coat
Spoon the sauce over the bananas as they cook, letting them soak up the caramel flavor.
  5. Serve immediately
Remove from heat and serve warm.
