Low Carb Garlic Butter Steak & Asparagus Bake
Ingredients
- 2–4 steak cuts (ribeye, sirloin, or your favorite)
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus (trimmed)
- 2–3 tbsp butter
- 3–5 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & black pepper
- Optional: fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary), grated parmesan
Instructions
1. Prep
- Take steaks out of the fridge for about 20–30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Pat steaks dry and season well with salt and pepper.
2. Prepare Asparagus
- Place asparagus on a baking tray.
- Drizzle with olive oil, add salt, pepper, and a bit of garlic.
- Spread in a single layer.
3. Sear the Steak
- Heat a pan with olive oil on medium-high.
- Sear steak 3–4 minutes per side until nicely browned.
4. Garlic Butter
- Add butter + minced garlic + herbs to the pan.
- Spoon the melted garlic butter over the steak for extra flavor.
5. Bake Everything
- Transfer steak to the tray with asparagus (or keep separate trays).
- Bake for 8–12 minutes depending on doneness:
- Medium-rare: ~54–57°C internal
- Medium: ~60°C
6. Rest & Serve
- Let steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Drizzle leftover garlic butter on top.
Tips
- Add parmesan on asparagus for extra flavor.
- Broil for 1–2 minutes at the end for crispy edges.
