Baked Ham and Cheese Mozzarella Sticks

—simple, crispy, and super cheesy

 Ingredients

  • 12 egg roll wrappers (7-inch squares)
  • 12 slices honey ham (thinly sliced)
  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 1 egg (beaten, for sealing)
  • Cooking spray or a little oil (for brushing)

Optional (for extra flavor):

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping)

 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Assemble the sticks
    • Lay one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface (corner facing you like a diamond).
    • Place a slice of ham in the center.
    • Put one mozzarella stick on top of the ham.
    • Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly like a burrito.
  3. Seal
    Brush the edges with beaten egg to seal completely.
  4. Arrange & coat
    Place each roll seam-side down on the baking sheet.
    Lightly spray or brush with oil.
    (Optional: sprinkle garlic powder + Italian seasoning on top)
  5. Bake
    Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve
    Let them cool slightly (the cheese will be hot!), then serve with marinara sauce.

 Tips

  • Don’t overfill or they might burst while baking.
  • Make sure they’re tightly sealed to keep the cheese from leaking.
  • For extra crispiness, flip them halfway through baking.
