Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 10–12 minutes
Servings: 2–4
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)
- 3 tbsp olive oil (or vegetable oil)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 5–6 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
1. Prep the shrimp
Rinse the shrimp and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
Dry shrimp = crispier texture.
2. Coat the shrimp
In a bowl, mix:
- flour
- cornstarch
- paprika
- salt
- black pepper
Toss the shrimp in the mixture until lightly coated.
3. Fry until crispy
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add shrimp in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).
Cook for about 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
Remove and set aside.
4. Make the garlic butter sauce
Lower heat to medium.
In the same pan, add butter and let it melt.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant (don’t burn it).
5. Combine everything
Return shrimp to the pan and toss well in the garlic butter sauce.
Add:
- lemon juice
- chili flakes (optional)
- chopped parsley
Stir for another 1–2 minutes.
