Oven-Baked Cabbage Burger
Ingredients
- 1 head green cabbage (cut into thick slices)
- 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce (or ketchup)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or similar)
- 1 tsp garlic (minced or grated)
- 1/2 cup chopped green onion
- 1/2 cup parsley
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- Optional: chili flakes for heat
- Olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Place cabbage slices on a baking tray, brush with oil, season with salt & pepper.
- Roast cabbage for about 10 minutes (this keeps it tender later).
- In a bowl, mix beef with garlic, onion, parsley, spices, and half the cheese.
- Shape into patties.
- Place each patty on a cabbage slice.
- Add tomato sauce and remaining cheese on top.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes until meat is cooked and cheese melts.
