 Oven-Baked Cabbage Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage (cut into thick slices)
  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce (or ketchup)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or similar)
  • 1 tsp garlic (minced or grated)
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/2 cup parsley
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • Optional: chili flakes for heat
  • Olive oil (for brushing)

 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Place cabbage slices on a baking tray, brush with oil, season with salt & pepper.
  3. Roast cabbage for about 10 minutes (this keeps it tender later).
  4. In a bowl, mix beef with garlic, onion, parsley, spices, and half the cheese.
  5. Shape into patties.
  6. Place each patty on a cabbage slice.
  7. Add tomato sauce and remaining cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 10–15 minutes until meat is cooked and cheese melts.
