Blackberry Cobbler
Ingredients
- 3–4 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
- 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter (unsalted)
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Optional: cinnamon or nutmeg (for extra flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the batter
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and stir until smooth.
- Melt the butter
- Pour melted butter into a baking dish (don’t mix it with the batter).
- Assemble
- Pour the batter over the butter.
- Add blackberries evenly on top (do NOT stir).
- Bake
- Bake for 35–45 minutes until golden brown on top.
- Serve
- Let it cool slightly.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
Tips
- You can use frozen blackberries (just thaw them first).
- Reduce sugar if your berries are already sweet.
- Add lemon zest or juice for a fresh flavor twist.
