Honey Garlic Chicken Stir Fry
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp + 1 tsp vegetable oil (divided)
- 1 cup thinly sliced carrots
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth (or water)
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp cold water (to mix with cornstarch)
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Make the sauce
In a bowl, whisk together chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. - Cook the vegetables
Heat 1 tsp oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add carrots and broccoli. Stir fry 3–4 minutes until slightly tender. Remove and set aside. - Cook the chicken
Add remaining 1 tbsp oil to the pan. Add chicken pieces, season lightly with salt and pepper, and cook 5–6 minutes until golden and cooked through. - Combine
Return vegetables to the pan with the chicken. Pour in the sauce and stir well. - Thicken the sauce
Mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water. Add to the pan and stir for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything. - Serve
Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Tips
- Add bell peppers, snap peas, or mushrooms for extra veggies.
- For spicy flavor, add chili flakes or sriracha.
- Best served fresh and hot.
