Cheesy Ground Beef and Rice Casserole
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (500 g) ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups broth (beef or chicken)
- 1 cup tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 2 tablespoons oil
Instructions:
- Cook the beef:
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft.
Add garlic, then the ground beef, and cook until browned. - Add seasoning:
Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, and tomato sauce. Mix well. - Add rice:
Add the uncooked rice and mix everything together. - Add broth:
Pour in the broth, stir, and let it simmer for a few minutes. - Bake:
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 25–30 minutes, until the rice is tender. - Add cheese:
Remove from the oven, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 5–10 minutes until melted and bubbly.
Serving:
Serve hot with a fresh salad or yogurt on the side.
