Cheesy Ground Beef and Rice Casserole

 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (500 g) ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups broth (beef or chicken)
  • 1 cup tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 tablespoons oil

 Instructions:

  1. Cook the beef:
    Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft.
    Add garlic, then the ground beef, and cook until browned.
  2. Add seasoning:
    Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, and tomato sauce. Mix well.
  3. Add rice:
    Add the uncooked rice and mix everything together.
  4. Add broth:
    Pour in the broth, stir, and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Bake:
    Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 25–30 minutes, until the rice is tender.
  6. Add cheese:
    Remove from the oven, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 5–10 minutes until melted and bubbly.

 Serving:

Serve hot with a fresh salad or yogurt on the side.
