These homemade cream puffs are elegant enough for special occasions but simple enough to make at home.<\/p>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<h4>For the Choux Pastry<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup water (240 ml)<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup unsalted butter (115 g)<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1 cup all-purpose flour (125 g)<\/li>\n<li>4 large eggs, room temperature<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>For the Vanilla Pastry Cream<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>2 cups whole milk (480 ml)<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup granulated sugar (100 g)<\/li>\n<li>4 large egg yolks<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup cornstarch (30 g)<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons unsalted butter<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<h4>Make the Choux Pastry<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat the oven to <strong>400\u00b0F (200\u00b0C)<\/strong>. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.<\/li>\n<li>In a saucepan, combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>Add the flour all at once and stir vigorously until the mixture forms a smooth dough and pulls away from the sides of the pan.<\/li>\n<li>Continue stirring over low heat for about 1 minute. Remove from the heat and let cool for about 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
