{"id":5764,"date":"2026-06-04T00:22:27","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T00:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipes.ukbiddingdirectory.com\/?p=5764"},"modified":"2026-06-04T00:22:27","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T00:22:27","slug":"ham-and-bean-soup-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes.ukbiddingdirectory.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/04\/ham-and-bean-soup-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Ham and Bean Soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Ham and Bean Soup<\/h1>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1 lb (450 g) dried navy beans or Great Northern beans<\/li>\n<li>8 cups chicken broth or water<\/li>\n<li>1 ham bone (or 2 cups diced cooked ham)<\/li>\n<li>1 onion, diced<\/li>\n<li>2 carrots, diced<\/li>\n<li>2 celery stalks, diced<\/li>\n<li>3 cloves garlic, minced<\/li>\n<li>1 bay leaf<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon dried thyme<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon black pepper<\/li>\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Rinse the dried beans and remove any damaged beans.<\/li>\n<li>Add the beans, broth, ham bone (or diced ham), onion, carrots, celery, garlic, bay leaf, thyme, and pepper to a slow cooker.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and cook on <strong>Low for 8\u201310 hours<\/strong> or <strong>High for 5\u20136 hours<\/strong>, until the beans are tender.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the ham bone.
