Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 45 minutes to release the flavor.<\/li>\n<li>Add the chopped onion and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the collard greens gradually, stirring until they wilt down.<\/li>\n<li>Season with black pepper and red pepper flakes.
