SLOW COOKER BROWN SUGAR HAM
INGREDIENTS
- 1 fully cooked spiral ham (about 4–7 lbs)
- 1/2 to 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 can pineapple (chunks or rings, with juice)
- 2–3 tbsp mustard (optional, Dijon or yellow)
- 1 tsp ground cloves (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place the ham in your slow cooker (cut side down).
- Spread mustard over the ham (optional but adds flavor).
- Rub brown sugar all over the ham.
- Pour pineapple and its juice over the top.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 4–6 hours.
- Do not open the lid while cooking to keep moisture inside.
- Once done, let it rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
- Spoon juices from the slow cooker over the ham when serving.
TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
- Use a pre-cooked ham (most store-bought hams are already cooked).
- Slow cooking keeps the ham moist and tender without drying out.
- Add glaze at the end if you want a caramelized finish.
- Pineapple juice adds sweetness + helps flavor soak into the meat.
