 Old-Fashioned Goulash

 Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

 Instructions

  1. Cook the beef
    In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion & garlic
    Add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add sauces & seasoning
    Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth.
    Add paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Add pasta
    Stir in the uncooked macaroni.
  5. Simmer
    Cover and cook on low heat for about 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  6. Add cheese (optional)
    Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and let it melt before serving.

 Tips

  • You can add bell peppers for extra flavor.
  • If it gets too thick, add a little more broth.
  • Tastes even better the next day!
