Old-Fashioned Goulash
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the beef
In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat. - Add onion & garlic
Add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute. - Add sauces & seasoning
Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth.
Add paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well. - Add pasta
Stir in the uncooked macaroni. - Simmer
Cover and cook on low heat for about 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. - Add cheese (optional)
Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and let it melt before serving.
Tips
- You can add bell peppers for extra flavor.
- If it gets too thick, add a little more broth.
- Tastes even better the next day!
