One-Pan Chicken with Buttered Noodles
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups water
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons butter (for noodles)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Season the Chicken
Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. - Sear the Chicken
In a large skillet or pan, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat.
Add the chicken and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown.
Remove the chicken and set aside. - Cook the Garlic
In the same pan, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. - Add Liquids & Noodles
Pour in chicken broth and water, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
Bring to a boil, then add the egg noodles. - Simmer Everything Together
Return the chicken to the pan, reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10–12 minutes until the noodles are tender and the chicken is fully cooked. - Finish with Butter
Stir in 2 tablespoons butter until melted and the noodles are creamy. - Serve
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Tips
- You can use chicken thighs for extra juiciness.
- Add a splash of cream for a richer sauce.
- Toss in veggies like spinach or peas for more flavor and color.
