Cannelloni with Ground Beef and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 12 cannelloni tubes
- 300g ground beef
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or any melting cheese)
- ½ cup extra tomato sauce (for topping)
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic, cook until soft and fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, then add salt, pepper, and oregano. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Stuff the cannelloni tubes with the meat mixture (you can use a spoon or piping bag).
- Spread a little tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Arrange the stuffed cannelloni in the dish.
- Pour the remaining tomato sauce over the top.
- Sprinkle generously with shredded cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden.
Tips:
- If you don’t have cannelloni, you can use lasagna sheets and roll them.
- Add béchamel sauce for a creamier texture.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving for best results.
