A rich, comforting seafood dish that combines tender shrimp and flaky cod in a silky garlic cream sauce. It’s simple enough for a weeknight dinner but elegant enough to serve to guests. Serve it with rice, pasta, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.

 Ingredients

For the seafood

  • 250 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 300 g cod fillets, cut into medium pieces
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

For the creamy garlic sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth or seafood broth
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

 Instructions

  1. Season the seafood
Pat the shrimp and cod dry with paper towels. Season both lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Cook the cod
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cod pieces and cook for about 3–4 minutes per side until lightly golden and just cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. Cook the shrimp
In the same pan, add the shrimp and cook for about 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the cod.
  4. Prepare the garlic sauce
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the broth and scrape up any flavorful bits from the pan.
  5. Make it creamy
Stir in the heavy cream, parmesan cheese, oregano, and chili flakes. Let the sauce simmer gently for about 3–4 minutes until it begins to thicken.
  6. Combine everything
Return the cod and shrimp to the skillet. Spoon the sauce over the seafood and simmer for 2–3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  7. Finish the dish
Add lemon juice and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
