Slow Cooker Cola Ham
A sweet, sticky, and incredibly tender ham made easily in the slow cooker using cola and brown sugar. Perfect for holidays or a simple family dinner!
Ingredients
- 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 2–3 kg / 4–6 lbs)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 can (330 ml / 12 oz) cola (regular, not diet)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the ham
Place the ham in the slow cooker. If it’s too big, trim slightly so the lid closes properly. - Add the sugar
Rub the brown sugar all over the ham, making sure to coat the top well. - Pour the cola
Slowly pour the cola around the ham (not directly washing off the sugar on top). - Add extra flavor (optional)
Spread Dijon mustard over the ham and sprinkle the cloves if you like a deeper flavor. - Cook
Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the ham is hot and tender. - Glaze (optional but delicious)
Remove the ham and transfer the cooking liquid to a small saucepan.
Simmer for 10–15 minutes until it thickens into a glaze, then pour over the ham.
Serving Ideas
Serve with:
- Mashed potatoes
- Roasted vegetables

- Mac and cheese
The cola caramelizes with the brown sugar to create a sweet, rich glaze that makes this ham unbelievably flavorful!
