Hand-Rolled Crispy Pastries
Ingredients
For the dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- ¾ cup warm water
For brushing:
- 4 tablespoons melted butter or oil
Optional filling :
- 1 cup shredded cheese or
- 1 cup cooked ground beef or
- 1 cup chopped vegetables (cabbage, carrots, onions)
Instructions
Make the dough
In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the oil and gradually pour in warm water while mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough
Knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Rest the dough
Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes. This makes it easier to roll very thin.
Roll the dough
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball very thin using a rolling pin until almost transparent.
Add filling
Place a small amount of your filling near one edge of the dough.
Roll by hand
Fold the sides inward and roll tightly like a small pastry roll.
Brush with butter
Place the rolls on a baking tray and brush them with melted butter or oil.
Bake
Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy.
Serving
Serve warm with:
- honey
- yogurt sauce
- or sweet powdered sugar
