Cheddar Bay Ground Beef Cobbler – Savory, Buttery & Comfort Food Gold!
Ingredients
Beef Filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Cheddar Bay Biscuit Topping
- 1 box Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix (like the one from Red Lobster)
- Ingredients listed on the biscuit mix box (usually milk, shredded cheddar, and butter)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease. - Add aromatics
Add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute. - Make the filling
Add frozen vegetables, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well to thicken. Simmer for about 3–4 minutes. - Transfer to baking dish
Pour the beef mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish. - Prepare biscuit topping
Mix the Cheddar Bay biscuit mix according to package directions. - Top the cobbler
Spoon the biscuit dough evenly over the beef mixture. - Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through. - Finish with butter
Brush the tops with the garlic herb butter that comes with the biscuit mix for extra flavor.
Tip: Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving so the filling thickens nicely.
