 Crockpot Salisbury Steak

Tender, juicy beef patties slow-cooked in a rich onion gravy — pure comfort food!

 Ingredients

For the Patties:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Gravy:

  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (to thicken)

 Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4–6 oval patties.
  3. (Optional) Brown the patties in a skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side to add extra flavor.
  4. Place the patties in the crockpot and layer the sliced onions on top.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup. Pour over the patties.
  6. Cover and cook:
    • High: 4–5 hours
    • Low: 6–8 hours
  7. During the last 30 minutes, stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the gravy. Cover and finish cooking.

 Serve With:

  • Mashed potatoes
  • White rice
  • Buttered noodles
  • Steamed vegetables
