Honey Brown Sugar Glazed Little Smokies
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs (1 kg) little smokies or cocktail sausages
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- A small pinch of cinnamon (optional, but adds great flavor)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Place the sausages in a lightly greased baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix together:
- Brown sugar
- Honey
- Soy sauce
- Garlic
- Mustard
- Paprika
- Black pepper
- Cinnamon
- Pour the sauce evenly over the sausages and toss to coat well.
- Bake for 25–35 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes so they glaze evenly.
- The sausages are ready when they are browned, sticky, and caramelized.
- Let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
For Extra Caramelization:
Broil for 3–5 minutes at the end (watch carefully to avoid burning).
Stovetop Method:
Add sausages and sauce to a large skillet. Cook over medium heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the sausages.
