  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (14–15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (14–15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth (or water)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

 Instructions:

  1. Cook the beef:
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add vegetables:
Add chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  3. Add tomatoes & beans:
Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, kidney beans, and beef broth. Mix well.
  4. Season:
Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne (if using). Stir well.
  5. Simmer:
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer uncovered for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The chili will thicken and flavors will develop.
