Iowa Party Bites
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup Bisquick baking mix (or all-purpose flour)
- ½ cup milk
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Mini phyllo shells, small tart shells, or lightly greased mini muffin tin
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef until fully browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the onion soup mix and let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, mix together:
- Cooked beef
- Cheddar cheese
- Mayonnaise
- Bisquick (or flour)
- Milk
- Egg
- Garlic powder and pepper
- Spoon the mixture into mini tart shells or mini muffin cups (about ¾ full).
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden and set.
- Cool slightly before serving.

Variations
- Add jalapeños for spicy bites
- Use Monterey Jack or pepper jack cheese
