Cuppa Cuppa Cake

A warm, comforting cake made with just equal cups of simple ingredients — no mixer needed!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick (½ cup) butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 can (21 oz / 595 g) fruit filling (peach, cherry, apple, blueberry, or pineapple)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the melted butter into a baking dish (9×9 or similar).
  3. In a bowl, mix:
    • Flour
    • Sugar
    • Milk
    • Vanilla (if using)
      Stir until smooth — do not overmix.
  4. Pour the batter gently over the butter — do not stir.
  5. Spoon the fruit filling evenly over the batter — again, do not mix.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until golden brown and set on top.

How It Works

As it bakes, the batter rises through the fruit and creates a soft cake layer with a gooey fruit base — like a cobbler and cake combined.
